About the Festival

Carolina Indie Fest is a free, two-day celebration of all-original music, hosted right in the heart of Downtown Sanford. Centered around Hugger Mugger Brewing, the festival transforms the surrounding streets into a vibrant outdoor venue packed with live music, food trucks, local vendors, and plenty of cold craft beer.

The music kicks off on Friday, May 23 at 5:00 PM, and again on Saturday, May 24 starting at 2:00 PM, with bands performing back-to-back sets throughout the day and into the evening. Genres range from indie rock and blues to Celtic fusion and country. Every act is unique, and every song is original.

Thanks to support from local businesses, the entire event is free to attend. Just bring a lawn chair, find a good spot, and settle in for one of Sanford’s most anticipated weekends of the year!

  • Ur Mom – Eclectic Chicago rock with funk, blues, and classic influence

Artists take the stage back-to-back, keeping the energy high and the music flowing all day. Many performers are based in North Carolina or the Southeast, while others travel from across the country to be part of this unique experience.

The festival is free to attend and open to all, so come as you are and get ready for a good time. Bring a lawn chair for extra comfort—while seating is available, having your own makes it easy to settle in anywhere you like. Families and leashed dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, including the beer garden. Food trucks, beverages, and merch will be available for purchase throughout the weekend, so come ready to explore. If you plan to enjoy a drink, you’ll receive a commemorative Indie Cup for a one-time $1 charge—or feel free to bring your own from a past year.
