The holidays are back! And while festive gatherings and holiday events might look and feel a bit different this year, there’s still plenty of joy and cheer to look forward to. Without further ado, here’s our list of the top holiday events and things to do for the season.
Turkey Shoots – Nov. 6 through Nov. 28
Put your marksmanship skills to the test with a tried and true trapshooting event. Every Friday and Saturday in November, the Lemon Springs Community Park will host a Turkey Shoot. Contestants can try their luck at winning a variety of prizes ranging from pork chops to a Remington shot gun. Proceeds raised go toward the development of the community park making this a sure shot at a really great time.
Holiday Open House – Nov. 8
Kick off your holiday shopping season as local retail shops roll out the welcome mat for shoppers looking to get a head start on their holiday gift lists. Take advantage of awesome deals, promotions, specials and sales going on all across Sanford. Also, with most of the action taking place downtown, you can shop for the best gifts and also enjoy a meal at great restaurants like Smoke and Barrel, Fairview Dairy Bar, Kathy’s Java Express and La Dolce Vita Pizzeria to name a few.
Second Saturday Holiday Market – Nov. 14
With the Second Saturday Holiday Market, Downtown Sanford once again proves it’s the perfect place to go shopping. From galleries to boutiques to specialty shops, southern hospitality and customer service will be on full display to delight shoppers and help them find exactly what they’re looking for. Experiencing the warmth of Sanford along with the sights and sounds of the season are sure to put you in the holiday spirit in no time flat.
Small Business Saturday – Nov. 28
The holiday season has always been a wonderful time to support small businesses and this year is no exception. Small Business Saturday is where you can spread the love to local shops and shop owners by snagging unique gifts ranging from handcrafted art to delicious sweets to snazzy clothes and accessories. Best of all, shoppers can get rewarded for their generosity by filling out a Holiday Punch Card with each purchase. Receive a stamp for every $10 you spend and turn in your full card for a chance to win fantastic prizes.
